I have a co worker that wants to sell my wife her 2000 Mazda Millina w/40K miles for
7grand cash.

The car it's self is very nice but I know nothing about these cars.

Mazda's are good reliable cars with above average handling and performance for their class - although the Millenia was not known for these attributes.

That price is well below the Kelly Blue Book private party value, so it sounds like it could be a good buy if it's in great shape and not repaired? As always, run a carfax on it before parting with your cash.

I believe the millina got the miller cycle engine(I could be wrong). Pretty cool idea that won some awards but I dont know anything about how sturdy or reliable they are.

More info than I'm sure anyone needs to know:
http://www.mazda.com.au/articleZone.asp?articleZoneID=92

Essentially, the Miller Cycle engine is a supercharged small capacity engine that is similar to a regular engine except that it keeps the intake valves open about 30% longer than normal, which increases efficiency by about 15%. It provides the power of a bigger engine with the economy of a smaller one.

Thanks for the data I hear these cars are prone to a "check engine" light that comes and
goe for no reason.

Given the cars looks and low miles and the fact I know the owner this is just blip
on the screen I am still buying the car but anyone else heard about the check engine
light thing?
