Intriguing. How does this work exactly? What is the maximum speed that we are permitted to drive?

I went to the laps for charity last year. They say max speed is 70 or so, but I was able to get some space behind the Accord in front of me and gun it to 90. Then rinse and repeat. If the club goes together I am sure they will allow the speeds to increase a bit.

I've done a couple of these. 70-to-90 is about right. They usually take a group of cars out on the track and surround them, front, back and sides. Keeps the chances of stupidity down.
Interesting thing in the turns- at about 80, you turn left a little to follow the track. At about 75, the car goes around and you can take your hands OFF the wheel. At about 70, you must turn away from the inside of the track- uphill- to follow it around. Weird turning right and going left.

We all got to run together. Ran about 85-90 all the way around. Still seems like driving around in a big toilet bowl....
Dinner at Chili's was great!
Thanks Del for setting it up !
Thanks to Gary, Del and Adam for making it another fun SVT Club event !!

Well I'm sorry I didn't make it but sadly The Mighty Cobra has been mothballed for a while.
I have done the laps for charity previously and they were always fun. One time I recall some kid in Viper that appeared awful young to be driving such a car; it turns out that he was sneaking dads car out for a joy ride while his parents were out of town.
Another time I observed some guy in a Corvette get thrown out of TMS for doing donuts in the parking lot after he finished his laps. He was standing in line to get his pictures from the photographer when several TMS employees escorted him to his car and told him he had to leave for violating the safety rules. TMS takes safety VERY seriously and has zero tolerance for ass clowns endanger others. So play nice and everybody has a good time.
