Russ Martin is opening an auto shop on Coit and George Bush. Would the club be interested in hosting one and inviting some of the other clubs and locals? They are hoping to open first week of May. We could work out dates with them over the next couple weeks. Thoughts?

For those that don't know Mr Martin is the host of the Russ Martin show on 105.3 from 3-7. He has a Batmobile, General Lee and a Mach 5. Could be good publicity for the club.

He has a foundation that supports police officers and fire fighters that have lost their lives in the line of duty. The proceeds from the show could go to that.

Its a good idea, unfortunately its too close to the first weedend of May now.
It takes a little bit more planning, about 3 weeks ahead at the least.
We can talk about it at the next board meeting .

i don't think it will be the first week just some point in May. you know how opening a new business could be delayed. do we have any particular "format" or presentation that is used when pitching a show?

I have a whole presentation put together we we talk with someone about doing a show or a cruise. To put a show together properly takes about 8 weeks of planning and advertizing.

Just so it's known, they are interested in the show. I just received an email from Darryl, the GM of the shop:

So, sounds as if there is a commitment of interest from them. Hopefully the board and members will be interested as well.

James, I think it would be a good idea if you came to the board meeting and pitched it also. If the board approves, then if you want, I can go with you to do a formal presentation to the prospective client.
